Key published CBR rental conditions for Kefalonia. Read these before confirming a booking.
Greek VAT at 24% is included in the rental price.
European and UK driving licences must have been valid for at least one year. Drivers from other countries must also carry an International Driving Permit where required. A physical licence is required; a digital licence is not accepted.
CDW and theft protection with excess are included, together with personal accident insurance and third-party liability up to the published limits. The standard excess is €590 for A/A1, €690 for B/C/C1 and €890 for other groups. A matching security deposit is required with standard CDW.
Optional Super CDW can reduce the excess to zero and reduce the security amount to approximately €150–€250 depending on the vehicle. It also includes wheels, tyres, glass and mirrors, subject to the terms. It is generally available for drivers 27–70, with certain age extensions at extra cost, and is not available for group E.
Insurance and roadside assistance are valid in Kefalonia. A valid credit card is normally required under the rental conditions.
An administration charge of €75 applies to any accident or incident.
The first or second additional driver is charged at €4.95 per driver per day. All drivers are bound by the same rental terms.
On request: €35 each way for collection/return between 21:00–23:00 and €50 each way between 23:00–08:45. Published office hours are 09:00–21:00.
Fuel is same-to-same. Return the vehicle with the same level supplied. No refund is made for extra fuel or early return.
Baby and booster seats cost €4.95 per day when booked. Correct installation is the customer’s responsibility. Luggage racks, GPS devices and snow chains are not provided.
Traffic and parking fines remain the renter’s responsibility and may be charged to the renter’s card.
The booking deposit is refundable when cancellation is made at least two weeks before pick-up, less €15 bank/commission expenses. A booking may be modified up to seven days before arrival.
Reservations are by car group, not a guaranteed model. CBR may provide a higher group at the same price. The customer is responsible for checking that baggage fits and CBR is not responsible for baggage damage.
CBR may cancel an online reservation within 24 hours after deposit payment if an availability problem occurs, in which case the paid amount is refunded.
Maestro cards are not accepted for the security deposit. The renter must normally be the credit-card holder. For groups A, A1, B, C and C1, a cash deposit may be possible if the renter has no credit card. A €100 cleaning fee may apply for extreme dirtiness, smoking or wet seats.
Pre-authorisation release may take around two weeks for credit cards and four to six weeks for debit cards depending on the card issuer.
CBR may refuse service for inappropriate or disrespectful behaviour and may update rates or terms. Promotional discounts and coupons cannot be combined; only one promotion applies per rental.
